A new economic impact analysis from Menon Economics highlights the significant value created by Green Mountain’s data center at Hamar. The report shows that the first construction of three buildings alone have already contributed NOK 6,1 billions in added value and supported 4700 FTEs. Moreover, these findings are in line with the economic impact estimated in an earlier report from before the construction project began.
Green Mountain announced the OSL-Hamar projet in the winter of 2023. Today, three buildings of more than 4000 square meters each an are in operation. The 90MW facility is built and operated by Green Mountain with TikTok as the sole tenant. TikTok uses the data center to store and process data for its 175 million European users as part of Project Clover*
Currently, 220 people have OSL-Hamar as their primary workplace, underscoring the center’s role as a long-term local employer in addition to its construction-related impact.
