One of those employees is Bjarne, our Operations Director.
Bjarne was employee number 3 when he joined Green Mountain in 2013 as an Operations Technician. Over the years, he has taken on more and more responsibility and gained valuable knowledge and experience, not only in technical operations but also in leadership. Today, he serves as Green Mountain’s Operations Director.
“I started at Green Mountain in 2013 as an Operations Technician. Since then, I have worked in several different positions, including Site Manager at our Rennesøy data center, advisory roles within operations, and today I serve as Operations Director.”
Learning and Development at Green Mountain
Supporting employee development is a key part of how we build our teams and our company. To ensure everyone has the opportunity to grow, we have established the Green Mountain Academy, our framework for learning, training, and professional development.
The Academy brings together a wide range of development opportunities available to employees across the organization. At its core is a simple belief: learning is a continuous journey. Sometimes growth comes through small steps taken every day, and sometimes through larger career moves and new responsibilities.
Few people know Green Mountain’s facilities as well as Bjarne. Since joining the company, he has helped introduce and mentor numerous new employees, sharing knowledge gained through years of hands-on experience. Bjarne has always been curious and eager to learn. Rather than staying within the boundaries of a single role, Bjarne has consistently sought new challenges and opportunities for development. This mindset has taken him from Operations Technician to Operations Director and reflects the growth opportunities available to everyone at Green Mountain.
Growth Across the Organization
Bjarne is far from the only example of career development at Green Mountain.
Kristin at our Rjukan data center began her career in a combined finance and reception role. Today, she works as a Service Manager, helping ensure a seamless experience for our customers.
At Hamar, Petter started as an Automation Engineer and has since progressed to Automation Specialist, deepening his technical expertise and taking on broader responsibilities within the team.
These are just a few examples of colleagues who have grown their careers while helping Green Mountain grow.
