Sandnes municipality has signed an agreement with Green Mountain, Norway’s market leading data centre provider, regarding data centre services. The data centre located deep inside the mountain in a former NATO ammunition store at Rennesøy will ensure Sandnes municipality access to secure, reliable and modern IT services. The services will be operational in Q4 2016.
– We place our IT-services at Green Mountain at Rennesøy because this gives us high security and top quality, which is essential in order to secure stable operation of IT services for citizens and employees in Sandnes. The municipality’s IT services will be operated from Green Mountains data center DC1-Stavanger. The data centre is cooled by cold water from the adjacent fjord without use of energy. Green Mountain offers the highest level of security for storage of sensitive data and information in Scandinavia. Furthermore, Green Mountain`s data centres operates solely on renewable energy which supports Sandnes municipality’s values of sustainable development.
