DNV GL, one of the world’s leading companies within classification, certification and consulting, has signed an agreement regarding data centre services with Green Mountain, Norway’s market leading data centre provider. The data centre in Telemark is located in the ‘cradle of hydro power’ in Norway, with multiple local hydro power plants close by. This will ensure reliable data centre services to DNV GL. The services will be operational first half of 2016.

– When we first decided to buy data centre services from an external supplier to support our global IT operations, documentable quality was crucial to our choice of supplier. Green Mountain is the only Norwegian and Nordic data centre provider that is certified on a Tier III level by Uptime Institute. In addition, Green Mountain holds all the relevant ISO certifications. We look forward to a long cooperation with Green Mountain, says Øystein Eide, Vice President of DNV GL. The data centre at Rjukan will be part of DNV GL’s production platform and included as part of the company`s disaster recovery plans.

DNV GL`s data centre services will be operated from Green Mountain`s data centre DC2-Telemark. Green Mountain offers the highest level of security for storage of sensitive data and information in Scandinavia. Furthermore, Green Mountain data centres operate solely on renewable energy and are energy efficient, which support DNV GL`s ambitions of an environmentally friendly and sustainable future.

– We are very pleased that such a quality conscious customer as DNV GL choose us as a supplier of their data centre services. For us this is a very strategic customer that we are looking forward to working with for years to come. The fact that DNV GL now choose to outsource part of their data centre operations to Green Mountain, sends a strong signal to other potential customers. DNV GL is known for high quality and naturally require high quality from their partners, says Petter M. Tømmeraas, Chief Sales Officer of Green Mountain.

Smarter use of data is becoming one of the top priorities for today’s companies. The company’s data are so important that they cannot survive without them. This makes the quality of the underlying infrastructure even more critical. Green Mountain is the only data centre in Scandinavia offering Tier III certified data centre services, that ensure that sensitive data and information is stored safely. This will give DNV GL`s customers the best availability and security of data that is available in the market.

– We have many customers operating critical applications that require data centre services of top quality, high security and green solutions. With us, customers get all this in one package. New demanding customers challenge us to continuously develop our services and activities to satisfy their needs, says Knut Molaug, CEO of Green Mountain.
