Norway’s largest IT Company EVRY signs a Data Centre hosting deal with Green Mountain, Stavanger, Norway, building on Green Mountain’s success in attracting new clients.
– We are extremely proud to establish our new Data Centre at Green Mountain. Having such a high security, high quality and highly efficient Data Centre combined with zero carbon emission is important to our strategic position within the oil and gas industries – says Jan Trøiel Bukkholm, Director EVRY regional IT operations.
Green Mountain Data Centre will be operational early 2013 and will be “The Greenest Data Centre in the world”. Low total cost of operation is achieved by utilizing the nearby fjord to provide cooling for the servers, use of renewable hydro power and Norway’s low power prices which can be fixed for up to 10 years.
– We at Green Mountain are very happy to sign this long-term agreement with EVRY, the largest player in the Norwegian IT market and are looking forward to a good joint working relationship moving forward – says Knut Molaug, CEO of Green Mountain Data Centre.
– We are now in the final stages of building our Tier III (high resilience) Data Centre. The former high security NATO ammunition storage facility, deep inside the mountain is now being converted into a unique Data Centre. We will have 7.5 MW of hydro power available at start-up, and will gradually grow this moving forward as further tenants come on board. Signing EVRY as a client continues to build on the momentum following the signing of an anchor client earlier this year.
